Open Question: What is the best area to live in Salt Lake City, UT?

My wife and I are relocating to Salt Lake City, UT and are searching for a fitting place to call our new home. We have no children, interested in outdoor activities, enjoy eating out, shopping, and are in the market for around $250,000. We would prefer to be on the west side of the mountains as opposed to the Park City area. Additionally we would like to be no further than 20 miles from SLC city center.
